Look! It's a Yeti! They're Real! Fresh from the Himalayas, Kono the Yeti is on the loose from his ancient ice cavern, spreading brain-freeze everywhere he travels. Inspired by the dark, cold winters nights, and evading capture for what seems like an eternity, Kono is finally ready to meet the city folk and grab a place in your collection as this blue-and-white Kidrobot Kono the Yeti Dunny by Squink 8-Inch Vinyl Figure. Brrrrr! Limited edition of just 700 pieces worldwide! A Dunny is a type of vinyl designer art toy created by Paul Budnitz and Tristan Eaton, and produced by Kidrobot since 2004. The toy is based on a rabbit figure with distinctive tubular ears, and the name Dunny comes from a combination of street slang and one of the early Devil Bunny prototypes. The Dunny is sold in 3-, 5-, 8- and 20-inch scales, though artists have customized Dunny models as tall as four feet. The toy has three points of articulation: a 360-degree rotational head and two arms. The buying and trading of Dunnys has reached eBay and beyond.

Black Man, White House: An Oral History of the ...

From legendary comedian D. L. Hughley comes a bitingly funny send-up of the Obama years, as "told" by the key political players on both sides of the aisle. What do the Clintons, Republicans, fellow Democrats, and Obama's own family really think of President Barack Obama? Finally, the truth is revealed in this raucously funny oral history parody. There is no more astute - and hilarious - critic of politics, entertainment, and race in America than D. L. Hughley, famed comedian, radio star, and original member of the Kings of Comedy. In the vein of Jon Stewart's America: The Book, Black Man, White House is an acerbic and witty take on Obama's two terms, looking at the president's accomplishments and foibles through the imagined eyes of those who saw history unfold. Hughley draws upon satirical interviews with the most notorious public figures of our day: Mitt Romney ("What's 'poverty'? Is that some sort of rap jargon?"); Nancy Pelosi ("I play F**k/Marry/Kill, and there's a lot more kills than fu**ks in Congress, believe me."); Rod Blagojevich ("You can't sell political offices on eBay; I discovered that personally."); Joe Biden ("I like wrestling."); and other politicians, media pundits, and buffoons. It is sure to be the most irreverent - and perhaps the most honest - look at American politics today. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Mia Barron, Cherise Boothe, Ron Butler, P.J. Ochlan. From the best-selling author of the Daughters of the Promise series. Addison Burke is a successful real estate agent who specializes in high-end closings and who enjoys an elite lifestyle not often afforded someone her age (27). But following her estranged mother's stroke and a recent fall, Addison is forced to hire a caregiver for her. It's a job Addison chooses not to take on, despite her financial freedom to do so. She hires an agency to fill the position, and to her surprise, they send a man for the job. Logan has somehow managed to keep his act together despite a past that is slowly catching up with him. If he can make enough money over the next couple of months by tending to Lee Ann Burke, he should be able to flee the country before his world comes crashing down around him. But when Lee Ann’s beautiful daughter, Addison, begins to awaken feelings in him that he thought died long ago, he begins to question whether or not fleeing from the past is worth leaving Addison forever. Will Addison let down her guard for love and renew her relationship with her mother? Can Logan face his past, come out unscathed, and act on his feelings for Addison? And why is Lee Ann selling everything she owns on eBay and Craigslist? Other books in this series: Message in a Bottle, The Shell Collector's Daughter, and Christmas by the Sea. 1. Language: English. Regift

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Regifting or regiving is the act of taking a gift that has been received and giving it to somebody else, sometimes in the guise of a new gift. One example of a formalization of this activity are the white elephant gift exchanges, in which items can be regifted from year to year. In the USA, "National Regifting Day" is defined as December 18th. In Canada, eBay marketed "National Re-gifting Week" as December 26th-30th (December 26 being Boxing Day, a time traditionally associated with gift-giving). Regiving differs from straightforward giving in that goods are not acquired specifically for donation. Typically, goods that have been received as a gift are offered to others, unbeknown to them that it was originally a gift to the person offering it.(regifting) Often the motives are principally charitable but also includes giving items which are surplus to one''s needs.

What a Mighty Power We Can Be

From the nineteenth through the mid-twentieth centuries, millions of American men and women participated in fraternal associations--self-selecting brotherhoods and sisterhoods that provided aid to members, enacted group rituals, and engaged in community service. Even more than whites did, African Americans embraced this type of association; indeed, fraternal lodges rivaled churches as centers of black community life in cities, towns, and rural areas alike. Using an unprecedented variety of secondary and primary sources--including old documents, pictures, and ribbon-badges found in eBay auctions--this book tells the story of the most visible African American fraternal associations. The authors demonstrate how African American fraternal groups played key roles in the struggle for civil rights and racial integration. Between the 1890s and the 1930s, white legislatures passed laws to outlaw the use of important fraternal names and symbols by blacks. But blacks successfully fought back. Employing lawyers who in some cases went on to work for the NAACP, black fraternalists took their cases all the way to the Supreme Court, which eventually ruled in their favor. At the height of the modern Civil Rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s, they marched on Washington and supported the lawsuits through lobbying and demonstrations that finally led to legal equality. This unique book reveals a little-known chapter in the story of civic democracy and racial equality in America.
